Dhaka- The capital and largest city of Bangladesh.

Dhaka( formerly known as Dacca)( Bengali ঢাকা) is the capital and largest megacity of Bangladesh. It's the largest megacity by population in the literal region of Bengal and a major megacity in South Asia. It's a mecca for trade and culture, with a long history as a Bengali capital.

It has been called the City of Kirks and the Venice of the East, due to its Islamic armature and a oceanfront facing the Buriganga( Old Ganges). It's also known as the Rickshaw Capital of the World, as there are over,000 cycle cabs running on its roads. Although it's described as a concrete jungle, Dhaka has venerable green spaces, including numerous auditoriums and premises . 

Dhaka surfaced as a smart megacity during the Mughal Empire. moment, Dhaka is South Asia's alternate most vibrant capital after Delhi and an important fiscal center alongside Mumbai and Karachi. ultramodern Dhaka is a thriving, various and congested megalopolis. Being one of the most densely peopled places on the earth, Dhaka can be one of the most wild metropolises in the world. Its thoroughfares and gutters are filled with various chaos. The megacity plays host to the loftiest number of cabs in the world. Dhaka is also the center of Bangladesh's cloth assiduity, the country's top foreign exchange earner. passing the megacity for the first time may feel inviting. Dhaka’s name is said to relate to the dhak tree, formerly common in the area, or to Dhakeshwari( “ The Hidden Goddess ”), whose sanctum is located in the western part of the megacity. 


Although the megacity’s history can be traced to the 1st renaissance CE, the megacity didn't rise to elevation until the 17th century, when it served as the capital of the Muslim Mughal dynasty of Bengal fiefdom( 1608 – 39 and 1660 – 1704). It was the centre of a flourishing ocean trade, attracting English, French, Armenian, Portuguese, and Dutch dealers.
